Fossil Farm is a mixed livestock, arable, and grassland farm nestled in the picturesque village of Winfrith Newburgh, just a stone’s throw away from the stunning Lulworth Cove. At the heart of our farm’s story is the transition from dairy cows to premium Aberdeen Angus Beef cattle and Duroc Cross Pork, marking a new chapter in our dedication to sustainable farming practices. Spanning across 500 acres, we cultivate a diverse range of crops such as winter wheat, winter barley, forage maize, and grass. Our livestock includes 300 Aberdeen Angus Cross Cattle and 350 Duroc Cross pigs, each embodying our commitment to quality and excellence in every aspect of our farm’s operations.

Our Aberdeen Angus cattle are sourced locally and brought to our farm at just 4 months old, where they transition to our signature grass-based diet. In the summer, they graze on our abundant pastures, soaking up the natural goodness. During winter, they are sheltered and fed a nutritious mix of our homegrown grass silage and rolled barley. By the time they reach 20 months, our cattle are ready to be savoured, delivering a rich and flavourful experience with every bite.

Our latest venture in 2022 saw the establishment of a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to perfecting the art of pig finishing. With an annual output of approximately 750 pigs, we have meticulously refined our process to ensure each animal receives a natural diet predominantly sourced from our very own farm. Sourced from an outdoor bred herd, our Duroc Cross pigs finish in our spacious barns filled with straw. Known for their size and suitability for large roasting joints, our Duroc Cross pigs are the epitome of excellence, catering to a wide range of culinary establishments.
